5 Fun things about Moving Office
There's no doubt about it, moving office is one of the most stressful experiences a company can go through. And whilst it's good to take an office move seriously, it doesn't mean it doesn't have to be fun. We've compiled a list of 5 great fun things about moving office to help lighten the load, and make the process an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
New Office Layout
A new office is a great excuse for a change in office layout. You can have lots of fun with your Office Design Company experimenting with different office layouts. Your Office Designer will carry out a Workplace Appraisal on your existing office to see how your staff interact and communicate, and what equipment they use in order to come up with a suitable layout for your new office. The results of strategic space planning can be surprising, and you will probably find that you operate far more efficiently in the new space.
De-Clutter & Clear Out
There's probably a whole heap of things you are hoarding in the current office that you've got stashed away in a cupboard somewhere. An office relocation is the perfect time to have a good clear out. This can be a fun exercise if you get all your staff involved in the process.
Teamwork
Collaboration is the key to a successful office move, and there's a whole team of people within your organization you need to get involved to ensure the process goes smoothly. Enlist the help of someone in IT to oversee the IT relocation, someone in finance to help with the budget and cash-flow of the move, a HR representative, and someone from Marketing. You can have great fun brainstorming and planning for the move together, whilst ensuring that all the crucial tasks happen at the same time.
New Office Design
Your newly found workplace will no doubt need design and decorating touches to brighten up the work place and boost team morale and productivity. Choosing the right color scheme and office furniture can be great fun, and you can get your staff involved in the finishing touches too; a few pieces of art or some bright flowers can make a world of difference.
Office Party
The perfect way to welcome the change of a new office environment is to crack open the bubbly and hold an office-warming party. Invite clients too to showcase your new office - this is a fantastic opportunity to network and generate business opportunities from both new and existing customers.
On a more serious note, don't forget to use this Office Move Checklist to help keep everything in ship shape during the move.
