Create a Healthier and more Productive Office
Create an Inspiring Office Environment
Every business could benefit from finding ways to get more output from their staff. The most successful companies have learnt that their happy employees are productive employees - and the office environment plays a critical role in achieving this.
There are two strategies that will always improve production: encourage a healthy staff and inspire creativity. We've got 5 tips that you can implement straight away to ensure maximum output from your staff:
Get Staff Input
Staff will work best in their environment when they have input in its creation and surroundings. If you are moving or reorganizing your workplace, ask staff for their input about what can improve their environment.
Small things such as footstools or a better business phone system may be things that you hadn't thought about when designing an office, but could make a big difference to your staff.
Create A Fun Environment
It's not just the business owner that should be proud of their office, but staff too. If your employees enjoy working, they will be more creative, and making a few positive adjustments to the workplace can inspire new ideas.
Consider creative billboards, photography or office art to bring in fun and color. Office ambiance is also important, and this needs to be aligned with the type of work you do and the customers you serve. Ambiance can be created using music, smells and color.
Encourage Healthy Eating
A healthy workforce is sure to be more productive so consider how you might help staff to be more healthy. Free office fruit is a nice perk and will help keep staff energies up throughout the day. If the workplace has vending machines, ask the operator to incorporate some nutritious foods.
Take A Break
You might think that by not taking a break during lunch that staff might lose productivity, but the opposite is true. By encouraging staff to step away from their desks at lunchtime and into the fresh air will help productivity and increase output.
