Ideas to Make Office Moves Fun!
In the midst of all the hard work involved in planning an office move, it can sometimes be hard to imagine an office move as fun or exciting. But by introducing some energizing and effective tips into your office relocation planning, you can make the relocation a fun and exciting time for all involved.
Get Everyone Involved
An office relocation requires a team effort, so the more people you can get involved in a "hands-on" way, the more ideas will flow and better still, jobs will get done quicker too! Start by holding an "Ideas to Go" board; provide sticky notepads and pens and ask all staff to take part in providing their ideas of how the new office can help you, as a business, work more effectively. This could involve anything from the design of your new office, color scheme, layout, communication improvements and equipment upgrades.
Get Prizes
Bribery works! Set up competitions for "the best ... meeting room names, comms room, new strap line, new signage" etc. and offer prizes to whose ever wins.
Hosting your Office Movers
Ask staff to provide an "office diner" at the new location for the office movers to get refreshments and feel energized to get their job done faster and more effectively. Staff could have lots of fun with this and help muck in too!
Celebrate Success
After all the hard work everyone's put in to organizing the office move project, it's time to let your hair down and announce your office move with a party. This will enable you to showcase your new offices to clients, neighbors and business associates and celebrate together.
Remember that it's the way in which you involve, deal with and communicate with your staff that helps make an office move a success - and therefore, fun. Use the HR Guide to Moving Office to get practical ideas on how to handle the office move as far as your staff are concerned and make the office move a memorable and fun event.
