New Office Set Up Guidelines
Finally finding the right office space for your business is a big hurdle to overcome when planning an office move, but now there's the task of setting up the new office so that you can quickly and easily move your belongings in and get straight back down to business.
Setting up a new office can be a mighty task, so ensure you take these simple steps to get your new office "move-in ready" and resume back to normal business operations as quickly as possible.
IT Set Up
The tenant who occupied your new office previously is unlikely to have identical IT requirements to your business, nor the same workstation configuration. So there's likely to be adjustments to the location of phone jacks and network cabling. Undertake a walk-through of your new office to establish number and location of these and where adjustments need to be made. Map it out visually as you walk-through the office so you have a clear record of all the IT infrastructure.
Order New IT Requirements
IT and telecom products need to be ordered well in advance of the move day. This is so that they can be installed and tested well before move day and there are no connectivity issues when you come to plug your PCs and phone jacks in.
New Utility Arrangements
Give notice to your utility vendors on your existing office and get them to set up the service in the new office ready for your arrival. Where possible, get services connected a week prior so you can test all utilities and have time to troubleshoot any issues before the move.
Office Design & Build Out
Your office design and build out project should all be starting to come together in the new office, and your Office Design Team should be on target to meet the expected completion date. Involve the Office Design Team in your IT Set up to ensure that any wires are hidden from view as far as possible, and that your IT infrastructure is safe, robust, flexible and aesthetically pleasing.
