Office Design Money-Saving Tips
Save Money on Your Office Design
The scope of your office design project will depend entirely on your office move schedule and your budget.
Most companies have some kind of end game and vision of how they want their new offices to look and feel, but if you think your budget may not get you very far; here are some office design tips to help you get the most from your buck.
Remember that a little can go far when it comes to designing your new office space.
Speak to an Office Space Planner early on in the process who will advise you of what can be achieved with your budget. Assess what features within the office are absolutely necessary to complete; flooring, better light fixtures, knocking down/re-building of walls etc. and get quotes on these before doing anything else.
Review your office furniture. Do you really need to buy new or can it be salvaged? An Office Design professional can help you determine whether your existing furniture can be easily integrated into the new office design. Utilize your budget wisely by focusing on public spaces, such as reception area, conference rooms - any area which is going to be more visible by clients - and save money in the rest of the space.
Remember to account for the smaller cost items which can make a big difference to visitors and staff; office art work, signage and decent coffee machines. Do you really need all that storage space? Are these files accessed on a regular basis? If they're not, archive and recycle to make better use of your space. Paint and colour can go a long way in giving your office space a facelift and make over that will help make it your own.
Remember that you don't necessarily have to spend a lot to achieve a decent, functional office space. But it is important to get professional advice from an Architect / Office Designer / Space Planner to help you create the best possible office design with the budget you have available.
