Office Move Day Preparation

The run up to your office move day can be the most hectic period in the moving office process. But with a little preparation ahead of time, these office move tips will ensure the day of your office move will go so much easier:

Don't Skimp on Movers
Don't cut corners when it comes to hiring the right Office Moving Company. If you think you can do it all yourself, or on the cheap - think again! A professional and reliable moving company will help you with the office move day preparation, they take out the hassles on the move day itself, and will be on call beyond the move day to assist with any shifting of furniture. Investing in a good Office Mover is cash well spent!

Clear the Clutter
Be ruthless and clear out anything you're not going to need in your new office. Recycle what you can, donate what's still in good order, but whatever you do, don't take unwanted items with you - it's one more thing to load and unload, and believe me, when you get to the new office - it's only another trip to the garbage!

Get out of the Way!
On the move day itself, the last thing they want is for you in their way of carrying out their duties. Find a convenient place to hang out so that you're hand if they need you, but you're also out of the way!

Value the Valuables!
Don't forget to mention any fragile items to your moving company. They'll be able to provide additional insurance on these items (if required) and ensure they are correctly packed and handled.

Think Ink
If your copier is leased, check with the leasing company about moving it as they may need to do it for you. If you're moving it yourself, you'll need to remove the ink cartridge and pack it seperately - otherwise, you'll know about it when you arrive at the new office!

Arrange Checkout the day after
Where possible, arrange the handover with your Landlord the day after the movers have loaded everything into the van. This gives you chance to get the property cleaned and you have chance to do a good check over. The last thing you want is your landlord turning up to inspect the property whilst your movers are still on the premises.

Double Check Security & Access
Prior to your moving day, your office moving company will need to assess any access issues at both locations. This will help them bring the right equipment to get your belongings in and out of both locations with minimum fuss or delays. Arrange for the Building Manager to be on site at the new office should the unforeseen occur, such as parking issues, elevator break down or access out of hours.

Use the Office Moving Checklist for more tips to get your business fully prepared for move day.
