Office Moving Company Interview Questions (Part 2)
Interviewing Office Moving Companies
Once you've got hold of all your Office Moving Quotes, you may still be a little bewildered as to which Office Moving Company to entrust with carrying out your office relocation. And choosing the right Office Moving Company is essential to you achieving a smooth and successful office relocation.
Here are some typical Office Moving Company Interview Questions which will help you to assess the experience, skill and enthusiasm of each individual Office Moving Company you meet.
- What recent Office Moving projects have you done?
Word of mouth recommendations is one of the most powerful way of finding out how good an Office Moving Company really is. Ask them to provide a list of recent Office Moves they have carried out, along with contact details so you can do your own homework to help put your mind at rest.
- How will you pack & transport our IT Equipment?
Some Office Moving Companies offer specialist packaging and bubble wrap to protect valuable pieces of IT equipment. whilst others leave the IT Relocation to more specialist IT Relocation Companies. You need to ensure your business-critical equipment is handled and transported safely.
TOP TIP: Do not accept "blanket-wrap" for your IT equipment as it contains harmful dust components which can enter your PC and cause it to crash - Nightmare!
- What moving trucks do you use?
They will need to have trucks (preferably air-ride suspension vans) capable of carrying any specialist equipment and cranes and forklifts for any heavy / larger items.
- How will you load our furniture into your truck(s)?
The right answer should be using a dolly which keeps all furniture on the floor of the moving truck, rather than being stacked. The stacking method can cause potential damage to anything at the bottom so should be avoided at all costs!
- What measures will you take to protect both offices from damage?
Ensure the Office Moving Company provides sufficient carpet protectors and protection for entrance doors and lobby areas where damage can so easily occur. The last thing you want is having to put right any damage before you handover your existing office back to the Landlord.
- How many men on the job?
They will need to supply a crew of fully trained personnel that is big enough to get the job done on time, so that you can get your business up and running quickly again in the new office.
- What insurance do you have?
They will need to have adequate insurance liable for any accidents - otherwise it will be you that foots the bill! Ask to see their certificate of insurance so you have piece of mind that everything is covered in the event of an accident.
Taking the time to really get to know your Office Moving Company, and asking them these questions at the interview stage, will mean a much greater chance of a successful outcome - and better still, you'll avoid any hassles and stress on the all-important move day.
Don't forget the Office Moving Checklist to make sure you've got all bases covered before the moving trucks turn up at your doorstep!
