There are a number of costs associated with an office relocation, some less obvious than others, but it is important you familiarize yourself with them and ensure they are factored into your Office Relocation Budget.
In addition to the rent of your new premises, these are a list of common costs associated with moving office:
Security Deposit
This is returned to the tenant at the end of the lease, but nevertheless needs to be paid up in advance of signing the lease.
Retrofit
Involves the tenant reinstating their office to its original condition that it was in when the lease first completed. Tenants should factor retrofit costs into their exit costs and review the work that needs to be done at least 18 months before lease expiry.
Build Out / Design Costs
The cost of these will depend on the level, quality and work that needs to be carried out. Ask a local Office Design Company for a quotation.
Contents Insurance
Make sure you are sufficiently covered for all your office contents and review your premium regularly.
