Office Tenant Move Out Checklist
Moving out of an office that you've occupied for some time can seem like a real upheaval. But if you're organized and you follow the right steps, moving should be nothing more than a breeze. The following checklist will give you a good idea what you'll need to do when moving out of your office:
- See if there are any major tenant improvement needs necessary.
- Ask your General Contractors to quote on this work and get it done in time for the move
- Employ a professional cleaning service before handing over the office back to your landlord
- Get rid of garbage and recycle old office furniture and IT equipment
- Announce your new office address to your clients and vendors using this handy Change of Address Checklist
- Make arrangements for your copy machine to be moved (this is particularly relevant if you are leasing it, as the leasing company will need to make arrangement to have it moved)
- Collect keys and access cards from staff to hand back to the Landlord
- Arrange for return of Security Deposit
