Planning an Office Move - an IT perspective
If you are planning an office move, there are many things you will have to consider - and amongst the top priorities will be moving your computer and IT systems over to the new office in such a way as to minimize any interruption to your business services.
Moving the technical side of your operation can be complex business, and it's advisable to consult with an IT & Telecom Solution Provider to remove the stress and handle these noturiously sensitive pieces of equipment over to the new facility.
There are three key stages to planning an IT relocation:
1. Transferring
Transferring your IT systems safely and securely; making sure that nothing gets damaged and ensure all data is backed up.
2. Infrastructure
Setting up your new office with the correct IT infrastructure; this includes having the correct number of phone lines installed - and in the correct place for workstations, having the correct cabling infrastructure so your PCs are properly networked (without having "spaghetti junction"). An IT & Telecom Solution Provider will liaise with you, agree a schedule of works, including marked floor plans and complete the works in an agreed timescale so that your business can resume quickly back to full operation following the move.
3. Re-connecting
If you have ever dis-connected your PC and been unsure as to which cables go where, you will appreciate how long it can take to get one computer up and running. With an office move, you will have many more important things to do than plug back in all your PCs, especially if you've got a complicated network to go with it.
Leaving the IT aspect of your office move to an IT professional will save you time and avoid any lengthy delays to your office move caused by your IT not working properly.
