Staff Buy-In when Moving Office
HR Office Relocation
Moving office can be a real morale-booster for staff. After all, it's the start of new ventures, opportunities, a new environment and a whole host of exciting things that come with a new workplace. Staff like to feel involved in big decisions that affect the business. More importantly, employees that are engaged in the rationale behind the office move will help promote positive messages to customers about the benefits that the office move will bring.
There's also a lot to do when relocating office, and the more help and input you can get - the better. After all, moving office should be a team effort and the more people that pull together and pitch in, the more fun and exciting the office move project will be.
Consider having a representative from each department on your office move project team and hold regular staff meetings to update them on the progress of the office move project. They can then update their individual teams so that everyone knows what's going on.
Once you've found and secured your new office, hold a company tour so everyone can visualize what their new environment will be like. If this is not possible, you can always take photos and put up floor plans on the intranet or notice board.
You might want to get your staff involved in choosing the office design such as asking for their ideas on the color scheme for the new office, or to submit ideas for names of meeting rooms. There's a whole host of ways to get your staff involved - and they can often provide valuable ideas of things you hadn't even thought of!
