Tips on Moving IT Equipment
Moving IT Equipment when you relocate your business can be a complex and time-consuming project that requires advanced preparation. Many companies fail to prepare for the relocation of their IT equipment and end up suffering more business downtime than they anticipated.

Ready for Arrival
Make sure your new office is set up ready for the arrival of all your IT equipment. This includes voice and data cables installed, phone lines in the right place and the right network configuration in place.
Notify IT Vendors
Notify all IT vendors and suppliers of your move date and ensure you have services transferred to the new office (and tested) prior to arrival.
Check Insurance Cover
Check the insurance cover of all your IT equipment, and ensure your Office Moving Company has sufficient insurance to cover your IT equipment against damage. If any equipment is leased, you need to check whether you are insured if you decide to move it yourself.
Be Prepared for Disaster
Prepare for every contingency in case your IT equipment doesn't work - for whatever reason. Back-up your critical data prior to the move and have spare equipment on call should it become necessary.
Have a Test Plan
Create an IT Test Plan to make sure all your IT equipment is fully functional, and all functionality is working. This will save heaps of stress when your staff arrive on Monday morning to start work.
